I worked for TalkTalk for over 5 years from 2014-2019 where continual progression allowed me to evolve my role from Digital Designer to UI Designer, to UX/UI Designer.

As a UX/UI Designer I have worked on the end-to-end user experience including conceptualisation, building a design system and designing pages in Sketch, prototyping in InVision and user testing with usertesting.com. As part of the Sales delivery squad I have been involved in key business priorities including a transformation programme, new product launches, replatforming the talktalk.co.uk website and multiple rebrands. I work closely with the UX/UI team and leads as well as collaboratively with Product managers and Developers in an agile environment, both in-house and remotely with teams in Manchester and India.

Please see an overview of a selection of projects I have worked on at TalkTalk below. I am more than happy to chat more about the details face-to-face.

The Wi-Fi Hub

The Problem & Objective

To support the launch of TalkTalk’s new and improved router called the ‘Wi-Fi Hub’, I was tasked with both creating a landing page which educates and excites customers about the benefits of the new premium product, as well as updating the product pages and sales journeys.

The objective is to increase connections of Fibre broadband products, boost NPS and reduce churn.

The Approach

  • Competitor analysis
  • Brainstorming
  • User flows
  • Conceptualisation
  • Wireframing
  • UI

Ultra Fibre Optic (UFO)

The Problem & Objective

To rebrand Ultra Fibre Optic so that this premium product only available in York, can be differentiated from TalkTalk’s standard offerings. To create an online sales journey (previously only available to purchase over the phone).

The objective is to increase sales of UFO with addition of the online journey and improve awareness of the product.

The Approach

  • Brainstorming
  • User flows
  • Conceptualisation
  • Wireframing
  • UI
  • Icon design

The Results

Rebranding & Replatforming

From 3 separate sites with 3D branding:

To 1 responsive, flat world:

The Problem & Objective

In 2016 TalkTalk had a 3D brand with seperate desktop, tablet and mobile websites. The task was to implement a new flat visual identity online for a new responsive platform whilst also aligning to a new business proposition in the way TalkTalk sell their products, called Fixed Price Plans.

The Approach

  • Working in agile scrums with developers from an external agency.
  • Wireframing.
  • Creating asset guidelines.
  • Conceptualising the new VI online.
  • Replatforming existing pages to a responsive world.

Pattern library

The Problem & Objective

To build a Sketch pattern library with all the components to make it easier for designers to construct pages and ensure consistancy.

The Approach

  • Analysing existing web components.
  • Defining rules.
  • Creating components and modules in Sketch for Desktop, Tablet and Mobile breakpoints.

The Results

Since implementing the Sketch pattern library it is much faster for designers to create pages as they can build from the component library. It also ensures team members are consistent in their designs.
